After the withdrawal of the election, 1,778 candidates are in the fray for the Zilla Parishad members and 12,663 candidates for the Panchayat Samiti members. Two crore 41 lakh, 87 thousand and 946 voters will be able to exercise their franchise in 21 districts of the state.
State Election Commission Commissioner PS Mehra said that Ajmer, Banswara, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jhalawar, Jhunjunu, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sikar, Voting will be held for 1,310 members of 65 Panchayat Samitis of Tonk and Udaipur districts and their respective Zilla Parishad members. He informed that about 25 thousand EVM machines will be used in the first phase, while more than 50 thousand personnel will conduct the elections.
At the same time, elections will be held on 11 December for the Deputy Prime Minister. The counting of votes will begin on the same day at 5 pm or with the end of the voting. In the first phase, 72 lakh 38 thousand 66 voters will be able to exercise their franchise at 10,131 polling stations. 37 lakh 47 thousand 347 men, 34 lakh 90 thousand 696 women and 23 other voters will cast their votes. He informed that after the completion of the voting of all the phases, the counting of votes will be done on December 8. – The first phase will be voted on November 23.
