‘Going to school was like a dream’
When he was only 10 years old, he used to sell pakoras on the pavement in Jaipur with his mother and brother to run the family. In those days, he had to work 12-14 hours daily at the shop. He told, ‘Our gardener condition had become very bad due to father’s habit of playing speculative, it was difficult to manage the daily expenses. In such a situation, we two brothers started selling pakoras with mother. 61-year-old Chand Bihari told that going to school was like a dream for me, the question before us was whether to go to school or earn money to feed. That’s why we focused on business.

Sarees were also sold on footpath in PatnaHe decided to do something new as he got older. However, he did not have much money, but was sure to pass some taxes. She decided to do a Rajasthani saree business in Patna. His business started running. He rented a shop in Patna. In a few years, his month’s sale was in thousand. However, their struggle was not over yet. Business had come to a standstill that in 1977, his shop was stolen and erected with hard-earned money, his entire business collapsed.

Gold business got lucky

However, even after this, he kept up the spirits. With the help of his brother, he tried his hand in jewelery business. He opened the shop of Gems & Jewelery for Rs 5,000. This business also started running. After this, Chand Bihari never looked back. Due to this business, he started the gold business. On the basis of their quality and trust, they gathered their business. His small shop has become a big company today. A year ago, he has been honored by the All India Business and Community Foundation in Singapore.
